Thoreau "Different Drummer" Personalized Plaque

Different Drummer
I loved Walden and I have always been a Thoreau fan. Perhaps you can tell from the many Thoreau quotes featured on my site and use of tree motifs, or perhaps it is just "civil disobedience". The phrase 'different drummer' is very familiar to most of us. It comes from Walden or Life in the Woods, as it was originally published. On this plaque I selected a piece of cherry with a billowing grain that resembled clouds or wind rustling through the tree tops.

This personalized plaque reads:
"If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away."
