Haiku (Cold Day) Personalized Plaque

Plaques need not be complicated. In fact, simple is sometimes the best approach. The Japanese understand this concept very well. The term IKI refers to the elegant without being overly complicated or pretentious. I have a customer who is a remarkable man. He is a Physician and a writer and a Haiku poet. He wanted one of his original haikus engraved on a plaque and he liked the look of my bird's eye maple kanji plaques. He did not even want these signed (pretentious). I think the combination of the striking maple with its complicated but understated grain and soft light color works very well in this concept. My talented client wrote:

"The haiku plaque arrived early last evening. It already is on my Poetry Wall. Your art & skill has brought me great pleasure."
